Psychotherapist

Hello, my name is Sabrina Sanchez. I am the founder of Live Well Individual and Family Counseling Service. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a graduate of Fordham University. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. It is with a caring heart and a sincere desire to help others that I serve my community. I provide individual psychotherapy, consultations, and evaluations. I have over 15 years of professional experience in treating mental health conditions such as Clinical Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Trauma, and Addictions. I also offer support counseling during times of crisis, such as grief and loss. In my clinical work I provide compassionate care. I am known for my calm demeanor.

I am also Credentialed and Approved by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) to provide assessments, evaluations, and treatment to individuals with drug or alcohol driving offenses. As an approved clinical provider with the New York State Problem Gambling Council, I provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment to individuals struggling with gambling related issues. Support counseling is also provided to family members. In addition, I have earned additional certificates in the classification and treatment of psychiatric disorders.

My approach to treatment is person centered and solution based. In my clinical practice I use a combination of psychodynamic techniques and interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

I am committed to helping you be your best self! During your individual sessions we will explore the issues that brought you to counseling. Perhaps you have a present concern, or have chosen to work on resolving an issue of your past. In treatment, I focus on helping you gain understanding, insight, and awareness of your emotions and behaviors. We will discuss coping skills that may benefit you and/or your family.

One in five adults in the US live with a mental illness. Mental illness and substance use disorders are treatable conditions. With support and proper care, recovery is possible - despite the challenges. If you are interested in therapy for yourself or someone in your family, please feel free to contact my office.
